Good Industry Stats

I am here in Keystone, Colorado attending the Search Insiders Summit. The keynote this morning was given by Chris Sherman, one of the editors on Search Engine Watch. His talk was informative – he sited some great stats that I will reproduce here:

A paltry 10% of consumers say they "trust" ads.

Percentage of consumers who say they "mistrust" ads:
94% mistrust pop-ups/spam/telemarketing
79% mistrust infomercials
66% mistrust SEARCH ADS!!! What? How could this be?
53% mistrust tv/radio

Jupiter research says that:
83% of search advertising spend goes towards SEM, YET
87% of the clicks go to organic search
